We are exclusive dealers of E.C. Powell Split Bamboo. Master rod builder, Eugene C. Powell (E.C. Powell III) has been dedicated to preserving the art and tradition of the Powell family for over twenty years. Keeping with family tradition, all of Eugene's Bamboo fly rods are built using E.C. Powell's Semi-Hollow construction. This method of construction achieves a lighter rod with the same power as a solid rod. There are two available types of tapers:
B-9 Taper is medium-fast action. It is ideal for dry fly fishing or a longer rod casting heavier line weights.
B-8 3/4 Taper is medium action. It is more suited for shorter rods fishing wet or dry flies.
Semi-Hollow Configuration
*Wraps are a medium dark brown with intermediate wraps.
*Ferrules are step down in silver or blued.
*Grips on rods up to 8' are Westerns and over 8' are Fullwells or E.C. Powell fullwells.
*Reel seats are Walton Powell type in either lightweight or standard size with black walnut insert.
*Aluminum case and cloth sack.
